- Hello and welcome to a Desperation! Here, all your fantastical hopes and wishes can come true!—orcomecrashingdowninheapingballoffire, but I highly doubt that! Anyway, first things first. As the creators of this site, the main thing we ask for is that you not only respect us, your admins, but your fellow players, as well. Don’t try to kiss our asses. We’re pretty good at detecting that. Being nice and respectful is one thing, but complaisant behavior just gets annoying, so no sucking up.
- Obviously, don’t be racist, sexist, or anything like that at all. Don’t reject another’s invitation to RP just because you’re a discriminating douche bag. Stereotyping is also forbidden.
- As RPers, we’re all on a different level for the most part. Some people can RP writing out 20,000 paragraphs or edit pictures really good or whatever. Either way, no bragging. No one cares, and it makes you look like a douche bag. And also, don’t give “constructive criticism” UNLESS the other person asks for some tips and pointers. Remember, we always think the other is way better at rping than we think of ourselves, so it’s not shameful or ‘noobish’ to ask for some ideas, advice, or little help every now and then. It actually shows you care to improve or try improving whatever flaws you believe to have.
- Don’t argue with people. If the subject turns, or is about to turn hostile, please alert us admins so that we could help whoever it is that’s having a problem with someone else. It’s one of the many reasons we’re here for, so please come to us. No fighting or arguing within the C-BOX. This site doesn’t need any drama whatsoever so don’t bring it in and leave at the door when you enter.
- No nude pictures! No need for nudity to be displayed, or anything pornographic.
- Wait to have your character be accepted. WIP’s (Works in Progress) are allowed, but they have a time limit of 4 days before being sent to the archives unless you PM any of the admins with a plausible excuse behind your WIP not being finished. You may, however, post out of character in any of the ooc threads or ooc c-box.
- Please be descriptive when it comes to the character application. We have premade character apps so please don't use your own, we have one for a reason.
- Don’t seclude yourself from others. Spread out and meet new people. Don’t stick to only two or three rpers when there are about 10 others to have fun with, all waiting and willing. Be social.
- Swearing. Alright, first of all, it’s allowed. Second of all, there’s no need to spam it like a drunken sailor having a bad day after being cheated on three times by his adoptive sister. Horrible analogy, but it’s too late to go back. Don’t curse in every single sentence. It’s really not required, unless you point it out somewhere in your character app that he has a bad temper or something, or tourettes.
- There’s a minimum of 3 paragraphs for each post. Of course, depending on who you RP with, it could change and vary, but for the most part, always have in mind that it needs to be at least that much. A paragraph is around 4-5 sentences or more.
- No one liners like “Greg walked into the barn and sat down on a stack of hay before collapsing into a deep slumber”. Be descriptive, creative, and enjoyable.
- No God-moding or Power playing. Both are actually different. God-mode comes into play when someone has their character either use abilities or skills they could never acquire or aren’t allowed to use, or just not take damage at all, no matter what. Power playing is when someone makes up the decision or RPs out the other characters actions without the consent of the player(s). Here’s an example of each. God-moding = “Mary survived the bullet to her head cause her skull’s so thick. She then retaliated with a hyper beam”. Power Playing =”Bob took hold of Jon’s arm and flung him across the room, forcing him to hit a tree and split his head into three pieces”. Don’t do either. Also, God-Moding can be associated with having your character know things they shouldn’t, such as whether or not someone has been with another through scent or something unless it JUST happened.
- A simple rule here. Don’t roleplay your libido out through your character. What we simply ask is that you don’t constantly RP a sexually deprived or horny character. It’s alright to have like one or two characters with that persona, but to have like 6 or 8 always hounding at the newest male or female to hit the forum is just wrong and diminishing.
- We are all for all sorts of role playing here. We don’t care if you post in first person or third person. We don’t care if your posts are all written as poems. Whatever floats your boat is okay.
- **NEW Please don't claim a spot on open threads. Lets keep things moving and open to everyone!
- Graphics are always welcomed, however, most definitely not required. The only thing that IS required at all, really, is an avatar. Signatures can’t stretch out the boards so don’t get one with a resolution the size of Montana.
- Activity checks will be held. Accounts that have been inactive for about a month straight will be placed on the shelves till reclaimed once more. Accounts are never deleted for inactivity. And you have to at least post once a week at the bare minimum, but if there are things that are keeping you from posting, than please leave a message or drop by just to state the situation. We do care about our member’s well beings.
- When making your account there is to be one character per account. It just makes things easier when posting and sorting characters into groups.
- Every account's name should be your characters name and keep them in all capitals and be FIRST MIDDLE LAST.
- There is no limit on how many characters someone can have. But you will be limited if you keep creating a ton of characters and don’t keep them active.
- Please sign onto every character account every day!
