It had been about two weeks since the entire 'Club Envy Debacle' that's what Gem had entitled it and it had been exactly two weeks since her first and final encounter with one Nathaniel Grayson. They hadn't gotten to know each other very well, aside from he had clients and one of those clients had practically checked her uterus with one quick scoop of the hand. It had been an extremely eventful night and she hadn't seen her dance partner since then. Gemeni felt bad for the guy, they'd been partners for close to two years and had grown to something close to a family like caring for one another after he'd gotten it through that Gem was otherwise involved with a man that would support her rather lavish lifestyle easily. It wasn't that Gem was vain, but it was that she was used to getting what she wanted and what girl wouldn't want that at her age? That was besides the point though, Caleb hadn't spoken to her since, he'd gotten a nice few cracked ribs no matter if he'd been able to get away from the problem before it got too much worse and they'd been able to meet up where they usually did but Caleb didn't seem to care for Nathaniel or the fact that Gem was clinging to him like an oversized spider monkey. She wasn't too sure of where the animosity had come from but Nathaniel had left and after Caleb had dropped her off at home he'd made it a point to refuse her calls and texts until she'd gotten angry enough to ignore him and refuse to work with him when they were in class. Needless to say, the past two weeks had been draining and her and Caleb's friendship and classwork so Gem deciding that she was in fact the bigger person had set up this dance date for them to just forget about what had happened at Envy. She just couldn't understand what it was that Caleb couldn't stand about Nathaniel, the two had long established their boundaries and they'd always danced as one, they were friends comfortable enough with one another, not trying to ruin a partnership or friendship with something as shallow as hooking up, but as Gem warmed up to the music playing from the ipod she'd hooked up to her speakers on the flat patch of grass, away from the heavier traffic of the park, the lack of presence of her dance partner was steadily starting to raise her blood pressure. "Je vais te tuer..." She mumbled under her breath angrily, a habit she'd picked up from her mother that she'd never really grown out of. This was more than Gem had ever done to salvage some sort of friendship and it was mostly because well, Caleb had taken an ass kicking for her when he shouldn't have. Then again he was acting like she was cheating on him with someone she'd met once when they themselves weren't even dating, and had in fact never even hooked up once. If Caleb didn't show up by the end of her practice Gem would be making sure to make the request of finding a new partner because she was the best dancer in that class and people wouldn't hesitate in dropping each other for the chance at working with her. It sounded haughty but it was true and it wasn't Gem's fault, so instead of taking the time to check her cell phone, Gem set it beside her music player and though she would have enjoyed some sort of company, working alone was obviously the only way to get anything done and though she'd really thought she'd know her friend better than this, Gem wasn't going to waste her time with petty people hell bent on hoarding her like she was some sort of property, she got enough of that at home. Letting out a tired and bothered sigh, Gem stood from her spot on the floor, before selecting the class playlist and putting her song on repeat. It was a new kind of number for Gem, it wasn't intimidating for the girl but it certainly was nowhere near the formal training she'd been taught from an early age. Belly dancing was a new talent the girl had been learning and the racier dancing that she'd come up with was something that she'd agreed to because her partner had been so insistent on how well the song would come out and as she went through the counts in her mind and rolled her hips this way and that, doing her best to make them seamless yet punctuated Gem couldn't help but to think that hell yes she would make it look good. Still, the song had been meant for the both of them and with just her there the song felt as incomplete as she was sure it looked, there was no need for a mirror to tell her that her moves all needed the sure counterpart that Caleb had been able to meet count for count with no help like no other... At least until Nathaniel. It was funny how much her friend seemed to have been bothered by a dance that had lasted something that had felt like less than a breath. It was constantly running through her mind though, a great deal of the reason why she'd chosen dance as her major was because of Caleb's support, Gem knew she was good enough to get it but to know that at least one other person would have been proud of her achievement, well it was comforting to Gem and she'd lost that comfort for a reason she still couldn't understand. "This isn't going to work...." Gem mumbled to herself, this song wouldn't work if she didn't have Caleb there the counteract each of her moves like the weight he'd always been for her. Gem had been excited for the belly dancing though, it was a style she was still fairly unfamiliar with but felt she did it fairly well. That wasn't the point though, she wanted to blow people away and if a solo act was the way to go about than so be it, Gem had lost people to her love before, what was another one? Once more the girl turned around to shuffle through her ipod until a bright and precise melody popped up. "Do the pretty girl rock..." The song almost immediately changed Gem's mood and though the song wasn't anywhere near choreographed, but it was fun and though most of her moves were silly and slightly vain they fit the song. Every pop of her chest and swish of hair as she turned her body. It wasn't difficult to tell the tension was draining her body as she threw in a jazz move her and there, adding a slight feminine sway to every move making sure that though the song was coming up on the fly, she'd make it look good. She'd have to make sure to put time in to her school's dance studio to perfect the moves but that was hardly an issue. The song carried on and Gem met the beat with the same girlish energy the song demanded right until the last beats where she immediately fell to the ground with the last beat, chuckling to herself and wondering if she should add that to her dance but taking the moment to gather her thoughts and wonder truthfully if letting go of such a long stemmed relationship was a wise thing to do, though then again Gem had never been one to apologize especially when she didn't even know what she'd done wrong. "Mad 'cause I'm cuter than the girl that's with you." And Gem couldn't help but to laugh to herself as she closed her eyes, giving herself another minute to think about what she was going to do for her showcase but at that point not really caring who it did and didn't involve anymore. Don't ask him how he'd managed it, but Nathaniel was certainly not looking a gift horse in the mouth. It was in the middle of the day and he was actually outside. Not just anywhere, but the park, of all places - not holed up in some dark corner of his room licking wounds, or someone elses, for that matter. Perhaps Leon had seen the positively pitiful sight he had been making of himself the past few weeks since the club. He was lacking a certain enthusiasm for his job, and instead of trying to constantly pleasing seemed rather blase with the idea of doing anything at all, even eating. He'd dropped a few noticeable and precious pounds, he was a little paler then normal, and his eyes seemed a little sunken in, like he was well on his way to not taking care of himself. For running, and having yelled at the client Boltome had punished him personally, and it had hurt - he'd been unable to to move for a few days, unable to even work, but he'd been expected to press on when he was back to looking one hundred percent.
Nathaniel had even lost one of his regular clients a few days ago. The woman claimed that there was just something not exciting about him anymore. He was actually very offended about that, maybe it was her that was the problem. He wanted, craved...no needed something more then what he was getting - which was positively nothing. It was his job to give, not receive and it was almost a physical ache that he go out there and find someone that would want him for him. He wanted to be owned, yes - he couldn't deny that...its why he'd gone running right back to Boltome that night with little to no motivation, it was why after his walk today he'd return promptly to his master. But he wanted something in return, but he couldn't begin to quite put his finger on it. And the more he thought on the matter the more frustrated and confused he became really.
So with a breath out he tried to force the troubling thoughts back chasing them to the furthest part of his mind as he could possibly manage to get them to concentrate on the beauty of the day around him. There was a good amount of traffic in the green little patch of nature still stubbornly clinging to their world and he gave it the appreciation he thought it deserved, slowing his easy stride every once in a while to "rest" or to look at a patch of flowers. He was getting a few stares from a few woman and even a couple men to which he could only smile at then shake his head. It wasn't that he was dressed in a way that grabbed attention of any kind - in a pair of simple fitted jeans and plain cotton tee he matched most, blended in well enough. But there was a sensual slink in his step, just the way he carried himself on a day to day basis was more habit then anything. It was meant to catch the eye, make you wonder then want. It didn't really matter if you knew the reason, but he'd mastered the art of seducing, by a look, a touch, or something as simple as walking. He made it all look very enticing.
He was just about to give in for the day, go back home and get ready for tonight. Work. Work. Work. Nathaniel was a busy boy. He really did appreciate the effort Leon had gone through to make it possible for him to get out, but he honestly couldn't just relax. Couldn't shake the past few days to do so.
Without even realizing Nathaniel had gone past the busier part of the park, further in, where there was almost no one around. Suited him just fine, no one was gawking here. But curiouser yet, he was pretty sure he heard music - now that he was paying attention even though it was faint even to his overly sensitive ears, but not hard to pinpoint. He angled his path toward the general direction till he slowed to a stop, coming upon a sight he didn't think he'd see again. Ever. It brought a smile to his lips, with the promise of becoming large and uninhibited but he settled on a smirk as he rested a shoulder against the side of a tree a few yards away from the figure. The petite, but curvy raven haired girl he'd met in the club. Gemeni. She had, had trouble written all over her that night, and even with a rather seemingly disarming personality...she was more met the eye. (Weren't they all?) At this moment though he was trying to stifle a chuckle as he watched her, dancing her little heart out. No partner just really letting loose to...was that...pretty girl rock?
Little did he know that had he been a few minutes earlier, he'd have gotten the pleasure of watching the belly dancing, but this was just as good too. She was totally lost in her vigorous movements and it took a good amount of self control not to jump and join her add his own flavor to the mix. Not that she needed the partner, but he couldn't help but to think how much more fun that probably would have been to have some sort of masculine vibe to add to things - even to a song like this. When the song finally finished, and she collapsed to the ground a huge pleased smile on her face, her chest heaving up and down in that rather tiny outfit he couldn't help but appreciate that attractive lines her trim body made. Here in the day light he got a better visual with his own eyes then just a feel for it that his hands had traced.
It seemed rather perverted, even to him, to just stand there and check her out from a distance so he stepped forward a few steps and clapped lightly, "wow, and here I thought I had gotten a good idea of the kind of dancer you were in the club." He was still smiling, but it had opened up a little more, unguarded in a way that reached his eyes, leaving them glittering with a hidden but natural impishness. He'd honestly never thought he'd run across her again, especially somewhere as obscure as the park. Certainly the day was looking up.

Gem had been so utterly content after her dance and the cool wind that was hitting her heated skin as the music kept playing that when she heard a familiar voice she hadn't been banking on ever hearing again. Her body jumped slightly at the sound of Nathaniel's voice and her head shot up instantly, sending her hair flying in pursuit as her eyes locked with the same mirthful eyes from Envy but Gem could tell that those eyes had been going through some sort of hell for the scene that had gone down two weeks ago. Nathaniel hadn't gotten a chance to tell Gemeni much of anything when they had gotten out of Envy all she'd been able to get and that was really from her own conclusions was that he had "clients" and they paid for what they wanted and were never denied a thing, as that sausage fingered pig had made it ever so clear to her.
It wasn't that Gemeni was ignorant to those sorts of thing, call boys and girls, a darker side to money making and all that jazz but she'd never been placed into a situation where she'd have to think about it, she'd never placed much thought or care about things like that, it had always been unfortunate for others but it had been their choice, and now Gem didn't really know what to think. It was only obvious to Gem that Nathaniel had gone back to whoever it was that was pulling his strings and had suffered for her little outburst (apparently that was becoming a habit for the girl) but she couldn't lie and say that seeing him hadn't spread a grin across her features.
After lazily rolling over onto her stomach to turn down her music Gem turned back around and sat up, crossing her legs and running her hands through her hair. "You should have seen what I had going on five minutes ago." The girl said slightly lasciviously though the grin on her face really ruined the effect of her tone and though she was curious to know what it was that he was doing here of all places when the last time they'd been here he'd practically run off the second he knew Gem wasn't going to be left alone, now though he was acting as though he had all the free time in the world. She was glad though, and Gemeni wasn't exactly sure why, they hadn't had much time to talk but they had hit it off well and even if he had a tendency to tease to a point that had Gem blushing, the girl really had enjoyed the little bit of time her and Nathaniel had spent together.
"You seem to have such a habit of catching me when I'm not looking, I'm starting to think you sir, are stalking me." She said with an accusatory glare for a moment before laughing and calling him over. She could tell that he'd looked even thinner than before, and that was saying something considering that the lithe figured slinked against the tree hadn't had a whole lot of weight on him to begin with. Nathaniel also looked like he'd been lacking sleep for the past two weeks and Gem couldn't help but to feel some guilt for that because from the looks of Leon the Line, they had both stepped in it deep for following Gem's cue.
Gem just didn't think it was just that Nathaniel wanted to live that life, she couldn't really think of anyone that would want a life like that. She really didn't want to get into something like this though with him because this was only the second time they were meeting and that was just plain creepy. It did bother her though, she was a slight bleeding heart when the occasion called for it (and even when it didn't). The music on her ipod kept changing, each one as upbeat as the last, some more provocative, some plain fun but all light and all of them reminding Gem to just keep the situation light, if he wanted to let her open up the flood gates he'd let her but for now given her lack of dance partner, she'd simply take this study date gone wrong into the chance of getting to know someone who'd fascinated her right from the start.
Pulling her knees up to her chest, Gem couldn't help but to think that the last two times they'd met Gem had been in a mini dress and now in tank that left less to the imagination and a pair of shorts that didn't help the situation and she had to wonder what kind of impression she was making and that itself brought a grin to the girl's face.
"You know normally most guys would have been dying to at least take me out for a late night breakfast and you handed me off, I should be offended." The girl said with a laugh that clearly indicated that just wasn't so. "And just what brings you to these here parts? It's not exactly on the marked trail? Were you looking for something special?" Gem said with an exaggerated bat of her lashes and a sweet smile, something most would have probably taken as bad flirting but something Gem really just saw as a less sexually forward continuation of their conversation at Envy, those nights ago.

Nathaniel knew he'd probably left Gemeni with more questions then answers that night a few weeks ago, but to be fair - he hadn't thought he'd run across her again...ever. This wasn't exactly a small town with only a few hundred people to populate the area. Their worlds should have been different enough that they would have never met again, but here they were smiling at each other, obviously happy to see the other. He'd have to really thank Leon for giving him the opportunity to escape for a few hours. And just like that, before he realized that it had happened, the previous few days seemed to wash away under a title wave of normal. Of course, he didn't know the girl so he wasn't going to burden her with his life troubles - or explain away in depth the reason he'd gone back, but he felt the need to sort of justify it to her.
But before that to her stalker comment he merely raised an eye - sort of giving a teasing look that said perhaps I am - however the grin on his face seemed to ruin the effect of any seriousness. He didn't suppose he could just jokingly call out that he'd heard her music from about a mile away and followed it out of plain curiosity - so he was left fishing for an explanation till he was saved by the easy way she kept the conversational ball rolling. To it he just merely scuffed his foot on the ground and lifted a shoulder in a sheepish way in a remarkably boyish gesture, giving a false clue to how young he could act. Anything he had to say would more then likely lead to uncomfortable questions he didn't think he could share or that she would want to hear.
The things he did and the life he led, most didn't like or want to think about being possible. Nathaniel acted as the real life medium that helped make some peoples darkest fantasy a reality - doing things that any god fearing person would turn away from in disgust. That being said he didn't think what he did or was willing to do was all that disturbing...he was just a little more honest with himself then most. It left him with practically no moral high ground to stand on. But really why would he want to when deep down its what he'd come to want and like. There was always the chasing thrill that this time things could go wrong - the ghosting promise of real pain beyond what even he'd be able to take. He came to the quick conclusion that he just wanted to spare her. Nathaniel had the inexplicable urge to shield her from all that - from himself.
That aside, since the tormented inner monologue wasn't like him - he'd finished closing the gab between them and settled near her on the green plush grass - folding his long legs effortless and comfortably. Even with the simple action of doing, Nathaniel seemed to deliberately set himself in a way that would entice her eye, drawing it down to take in some appreciate scenery. Or that had always been the purpose behind anything he did - and usually worked when he wasn't so overdressed. Finally he replied, even though the seconds between the question and answer weren't so long - just more like a deliberate pause, "perhaps I have been looking for you to make things up to you." He took a breath, a mischievous grin still hanging on his lips to carry on his teasing words though his eyes had gone back to being a little hooded. "Perhaps you are that special something I was hoping to run into," with a quick wink he chuckled and eased himself down to sort of lay on his side - one leg bent and the other up while he propped himself on an elbow, "so who knows maybe I am a stalker."
Waggling his eyebrows in a obviously comical way he ran his free hand down his chest to his stomach so his fingers played with the loose end of his thin shirt, "but aren't you glad you have one that is as deliciously enticing as this" As his fingers twitched - something that could only really be done if practiced a few times to become habit he flashed a little skin, showing the fine definition of his abs underneath. He wasn't muscle bound but the little show of sinewy tendons he'd acquired over the years were for nothing but show. Nathaniel couldn't help but laugh again, the sound light and open - hopefully infectious as he dropped his hand away and let his head sort of hang to the side, in a way that suggested he didn't want to put up the effort of using the muscles in his neck to hold his own head up. He hoped the picture he made was as disarming and cute as he was trying to make it - but he was pretty sure the grin he still had ruined the entire effect.

Gem couldn't help but to notice the way that Nathaniel carried himself, he demaded attention and it was like he did it on purpose, like he couldn't live without eyes on him and despite herself Gem did look though it lasted less than the blink of an eye before she was grinning at the boy who'd laid out lazily on the plush grass beneath her. Gem was glad to see that there were no hard feelings against her for what she had caused at the scene, though she couldn't say she was sorry at all for having that that disgusting business man his lesson, she'd only wished she'd been able to stick her spike heel through the guard's groin before Caleb had stepped in.
Then again that probably only would have gotten Nathaniel killed and Gem thrown into a world of trouble she didn't think she'd ever be able to make it out of. Maybe it had been for the best that they'd left when they had. Gem was pulled away from her thoughts of Envy by Nathaniel's cheeky runaround to her question, yet couldn't really bring herself to get upset that he hadn't exactly given her the answer she was looking for, especially when he kept pushing on, his fingers blazing a trail while her eyes naively followed them like awestruck puppies chasing a stick. It shouldn't have been any surprise at the flash of skin the man had shown her but Gem couldn't help but to turn her face and let out a small scream that was chased by laughter.
"Nathaniel!" The girl chastised and thwacked his hands as he moved them away, laughing alongside him after she shoved her hand against his stomach as though the nudge was telling him 'ha ha, very nice' . It wasn't that Gem was a prude, she had her fun but really she'd only ever even had fun with one person and even then, her fun was very limited so meeting someone so very open and teasing, pushing every boundary with a smirk and a touch, it was both disarming and concerning.
Laying down flat on her back when she noticed the way Nathaniel seemed to relax, Gem stared up at the clear skies in a comfortable silence for a moment, the grin on her face obvious and though she wouldn't pay it much mind she could feel Nathaniel's eyes on her, trying to figure something out, and unlike other people, Gem could only find herself smirking.
As big of a mystery that Nathaniel was to Gem, the girl had the feeling that the thoughts were returned. Gem didn't like to think herself a complicated girl but it seemed others like to disagree and the way he stared at her only made her think that Nate was one of those people.
"You know, no matter how hard you look. My clothes are staying on." Gem teased Nathaniel, her eyes drifting to the side, her eyes locking with his before she let out something nothing short of a snort of laughter and turning to her side, mirroring Nathaniel's post, though her eyes stayed locked on his as though it were some sort of silent staring contest. She could tell each of them had something a little more to say but that neither really wanted to ruin the bright side to how things were going right now and unless Leon the walking wall was hiding behind the bushes, they were already pushing a new record for longest conversation. Breaking her eyes away from Nathaniel, Gem looked down at the grass, her fingers picking at random pieces of grass pulling at it, looking back up at Nathaniel.
"We never got the chance to talk did we?" She finally asked out of nowhere, you could say Gem was an inquisitive girl, but really she had never met anyone like Nathaniel and he had drawn her in with no effort and all she could really do now was wonder about him and ask questions. "I want to know.... You're favorite food." Gem said and though when she looked up at him there was a giant grin on her face, she was in fact serious. There was always that off chance that this would be the last time she'd met and Gem just wanted to make sure she didn't leave any question unanswered no matter how mundane it may have been.
"I could live off of Strawberries and Cream." Gem admitted with a smile before adding as if on a second thought. "And mineral water." With that Gem looked at Nathaniel expectantly, the same grin on her face as she playfully threw a random blade of grass on top of the hand that was between the both of them, "Once you answer you can ask me any question you want too and I'll answer honestly, promise." Gem said holding up the hand that wasn't propping up her hand as if to make an oath before looking back at Nathaniel laughing a little bit. "And maybe next time we hang out we can manage to get a bite to eat, I do believe you owe me that much." The girl teased Nathaniel, in a way to let him know there were no hard feelings for what had happened at Envy, and most importantly, that there was no way she'd be letting this be their last run in... Gem had to wonder if someone in Nathaniel's position owned a cell phone... He had to right? What normal person didn't?

Gemeni's reaction pleased the hell out of Nate and the wide smile on his face felt like it could stay that way permanently. It was natural and easy. She was just to damn cute it tickled him to no end and made him want to keep teasing her to find out what kind of reaction he could keep on getting. It said a lot, too, just how comfortable he was around her. He supposed it should have concerned him, but it surprisingly didn't. He couldn't seem to figure himself out or her while he was around her so he wasn't going to start trying now - even though this was only their second meeting, he figured this would be a reoccurring pattern if they continued to run into each other. He could feel himself drawing in for some deeper thought the more his body relaxed. His mind, however, was going full steam ahead. He wondered how realistic it say they could be friends even though he would love to have one outside the dark world he lived in.
That wasn't to say that he was ashamed of any of it, it was apart of who he was, and he wanted nothing more then to have someone for his own, that accepted every ugly, twisted part of him. That found good in him when there probably didn't seem like there was much in the first place. He wanted to feel special and perfect to someone - not wanted because it was his job, not because someone liked how much pain he could take or how easy it was to take him - or that he was a pretty face. He hadn't meant to stare so intently at the girl, but he really wasn't seeing her. Oh sure he did, how could he not? Even with her hair up in a messy do, and sweating lightly in that tiny outfit - she made a positively yummy little picture.
He couldn't even argue with himself he wasn't the type to ogle, because...well he was - he just happened to do it in a way that didn't come across as threatening, if her comment was anything to go by. He knew why that was too - he may have seen himself as a smooth operator, but he wasn't the aggressor in any sort of relationship - he always had an easy feel to him. Nate was once again grinning and silently laughed but didn't at all seem abashed by the fact that he'd been caught staring. Or that she thought he was checking her out. Talking had never really been his forte - because hell when most people around him just wanted one thing, words were usually not needed from him. But he couldn't help but continue to grin when she turned on her own side and copied his pose, locking the two of them in a staring contest. With a slow climb of his eyebrow he gave her a peek of that boyish nativity he was so good at claiming on his face, his hazel eyes still brimming with teasing delight.
In the next moment though when she looked down first then back up the way she spoke made something soften around the edges of his face. It was his turn then to flick his gaze downward. Only looking back up to her face through thick black lashes - in such a feminine gesture that suggested it may have been something practiced. Most of his clients didn't like masculine energy, but didn't think any woman could take what he could. Best of both words? He supposed.
After letting out a solid laugh he picked his head up fully, like he'd been holding his breath and had let it rush out on the tails of the amused sound. Nathaniel let himself fall flat on his back, just an easy flop backward that seemed once again all to graceful to accomplish - one arm carelessly but almost artfully flung out from his body, the other resting high on his stomach - fingers splayed in a way that might make someone think he liked the feel of his own body. Even make that person have the urge to have a feel for themselves. That was the idea anyways. See? It seemed Nate couldn't stop working even when he wasn't working.
He seemed to slowly think about her question...what was his favorite food. It felt like an innocent enough thing to ask, but the more he thought it over, the clearer it became that...he didn't know. Boltome didn't treat them to fine foods and if it didn't come from a client they usually didn't get things like...strawberries or cream. He'd only associated things like that to one thing - like just about everything in his life, since sex was what his world revolved around. "Well..." he said for the sake of saying something. "I...don't think I have a favorite food, to be honest." But he felt the pressing need to answer anyways and finally looked over with another grin, "I like steak though...rare." Sitting up quickly he turned toward Gemeni with an eager sort of bounce, his legs crossing Indian style and his hands clasping down around the front of his ankle.
"So I get to ask you a question now, according to your rules."
He suppressed the urge to give her a look that would make her squirm and it was even harder not to ask her something to make her deliberately blush. Letting out a sigh he slumped a little as he crossed his arm, giving the staged pose of lifting a hand to pinch his chin in serious thought. "Lets see..." he sort of drug out the last word on purpose, still fighting the urge to grin like crazy, "What is your favorite..." a pause before grinning, "thing to do."
Easy enough, and obvious enough, "mine would be...flirting. I'm a very good flirt." There was a sure enough confident posturing in him and not only his words.

Gem watched with silent amusement the way Nathaniel flipped onto his back in a... gracefully lazy way. It made the girl smirk to see him working in a way so subtle to get attention she almost hadn't picked it up and if it hadn't have been for that night at Envy she probably would never have taken the time to notice these sorts of things. She was sure they were habits, mere methods that he'd taken in as second nature which only made the girl shudder in the realization of how long he could have possibly been doing this. She really didn't think Nathaniel fit that sort of life, he didn't look miserable though, on the contrary he was exceptionally confident unless every well placed word, motion and expression was a mere illusion, but somehow Gem couldn't buy that that much confidence was an act.
She didn't care though, Gem found it amusing, refreshing she supposed, which was interesting considering most times when she was getting hit on Gem would drive her heels into someone's foot before they finished their first sentence, Gem supposed it was the fact that she could see in their eyes what they wanted from her and it was that look that Nathaniel seemed to lack. Oh of course she took all his innuendos and flirty words for what they were, but it felt more like he was pushing her, having fun probing her for reactions and Gem found it adorable in a way that she couldn't quite explain.
The girl watched intently as he thought of her question and his silence made the girl wonder. It was actual pensive wonderment, Gem had never seen someone think so hard about a question so simple and as adorable as it was she had to wonder who was there to care for Nathaniel when he was alone? Had anyone ever taken the time to get to know him like she was? She couldn't see why anyone wouldn't want to but Gem could't even begin to pretend that she knew what went on with underworld like dealings. She didn't even know even Nathaniel minded it, she didn't imagine he would but if he'd spent enough time living it, what's to say it was what he preferred and who was Gem to judge? All she really knew was that something in him called to her and she wasn't the type of girl to deny herself of anything.
Gem was brought out of her silent musings by his answer of not knowing but liking steak... Bloody. Gem made no move to hide her distaste for his preference and actually stuck her tongue out and made a small noise of disgust.
"You're one of those guys, likes to watch his meat bleed. Totally gross, completely." Gem couldn't help but to laugh and roll over onto her stomach when she saw Nathaniel switch positions and propped herself up on her elbows, turning her fact to look at Nathaniel as he thought about his question quite seriously leaving Gem to wonder what sort of mess she'd gotten herself into though again she just couldn't help but to take anything he said with nothing short of amusement. She watched him with suspicious amusement as he continued to prolong the question and she couldn't help but shake her head at him and let out another laugh as she grabbed the ipod resting on the grass and began to flip through the songs, finding that nothing really called to hair, until it got to probably her guiltiest pleasure.
I whip my hair back and forth, I whip my hair back on forth...
Was what she heard over Nathaniel's question and she couldn't help but to turn to face him and do just what the song had told her, just much less drastically. Her neck rolled side to side, and the smirk on her face was really one to match his own and though she'd heard his comment about flirting being his forte and she completely agreed, the look on her face with this song when he'd asked her what it was she was good at, well there just wasn't anything else that came to Gem's mind as she slowly stood from her spot once again, and though the last song had been fun Gem always knew that this song did bring a certain.... cockiness out of her.
"Why don't you tell me." Gem said when she stood up, and let her hair out of it's confines, call it a dramatic effect but the song called for it. The bounce in each of her steps it had confidence that just screamed 'I am this damn good' and as the song continued and she brought out some of her best moves with ease, hardly breaking a sweat a look in her eyes that screamed she was far more forward then she let on when through the song as her hips and shoulders rolled in unison and she practically moved as though she was more fluid than water, sharp where needed and soft when it called for it. Her moves enticed and she knew it, it was the reason Gem never much danced in places that called for attention, as much as she loved to let loose like she did now, there was something about the fact that she was being stared at as meat and not a performer that bothered her.
She supposed that sort of respect was earned, but it was a hard thing to achieve when you were hiding your passion from the people that mattered most. Especially something as "distasteful" as hip hop but right now it wasn't what Gem was thinking of, she saw Nathaniel as someone like her, they were were, they went through the motions but there was a thirst for more maybe he knew what it was that he wanted but Gem had only been so smart to know that it was dance, but did she want fame? Or did she simply want the freedom to do it without being criticized for it? Her ballet it was perfect, it was precise and it had passion behind it but that was all. Gem had lost her fuel for ballet, it was her father's pushing and Drake's insistence that if she wanted to fiddle around with dance that she at least make the move to become a primaballerina with the town's dance company but for what? So they could use her as another bargaining chip with clients? "Like the ballet? Why my daughter and his fiancee she happens to be the prima ballerina, here are two tickets... Now let's talk money" Gem knew that was what they thought of her. She was more of a ploy then she was a girlfriend or a daughter, it was tiresome and beneath the tones of sultry shaking and confident twirling, there was something else.. It was almost hard, it was what made her movements sharp and attention grabbing... It was anger.
This was where she let it out, this was why she danced. she let everything she possibly could out here and that's exactly what she did, with her last roll, from the top of her head to the bottom of of her feet, the attitude in it, the confidence, it was what Gem lacked outside of her dancing, when she was home, when she was with Drake. She let out a slightly defeated sigh when the high that came with vanished diminished from her with the song but as soon as it was there it was gone and her smirk was back.
"Now, why don't you tell me.... What your....-" A devilish smirk creeped up on Gem's features as she thought the question through "Best quality is." Hey the way she figured to could play this game, even if she knew he'd probably win anyway. "Mine happens to be... My impeccable taste in people."

Nathaniel actually chuckled silently when Gemeni popped up from her sitting position with her saucy response, and he could only do as the lady insisted. With a grin he enjoyed the show. The vigor in which her body rolled, twisted and moved effortlessly with the song that blasted from the tiny speakers. It was obvious that unlike Nate - who only danced as amusement - this girl had trained for it, and she very well could only survive if she was doing what she put so much into every time the music turned on.
He found himself wanting to get up and join here - there was just something about the precise movements that felt on the edge of reckless he found appealing. Even though it seemed to be fueled with the heat of anger, it added that something else. He hoped she didn't lose it. Nate's eyes remained glued to the dark haired girl even as she turned and winked at him and he remained in his original languid position. Like there was no a care in the world or on his mind. He was a master of controlling his face and his body - he only let out what he wanted to and it was something he'd learned to do very early on in life.
He couldn't help but laugh at her, out loud - a clear delighted sound, in surprisingly full baritone, as she exclaimed her best quality and he nodded collecting himself. "Well I couldn't agree more," with a short hum he actually took the time to stage a thoughtful moment though his response was more readily available to him then the previous one. "I'd have to say....my irresistible charms. I have been going easy on you otherwise...well..."
He shrugged a little his obviously teasing and was unable to keep the grin off his face, his eyes sparkling with his mirth. Nathaniel had never really been known for pushing things but with Gemeni he found himself just reacting - not really worrying about consequences so standing he stretched all those long graceful limbs in a way that said he was very aware every muscle in his body. There was a subtle shift in his features, while they remained relaxed his mood seemed to shift with the music, conveniently, to a Mariah Carey song - Obsessed. It only took a couple steps and he was in her personal space his pace nearly with the beat.
His hand came out to deftly but lightly catch hers and he brought her palm up to his chest, pressing her palm there and down to trail slowly. The look on his face and the serious suddenly more then flirty airs he'd put on were suddenly ruined when he cocked an eyebrow, twisted his lips comically and actually started lip syncing some of the lyrics "Oh, oh oh....why you so obsessed with me, and I wanna know lying that you sexin' me when everybody knows that its clear your obsessed with me." His head bobbed. Quickly he dropped her hand and turned bending a little and booty bumped Gem, giving her a huge grin as he peered over his shoulder. It was done so smoothly she probably didn't have time to exactly react but he waited, hoping the look on his face was more cute then anything else.
What he didn't need was to push Gemeni to far...they really didn't know each other after all. Just because he found himself inexplicably at ease around her - disarmed by her personality - he did understand propriety...somewhat.
