WELCOME to Desperation! An original role play that features a wide variety of unique characters and plots. We accept any level of role playing, we look for quality over quantity. Feel free to look around and ask any questions you may have, anyone would be more than welcome to answer them.
Tropical storms and hurricanes are ravaging the state, especially along the coast. Despite the rather mild and comfortable temperatures the humidity is high, making everything feel damp or clammy. Heavy rains with the tropical storms threaten flooding. Keep an eye on rivers, streams, and so forth.

The site is finally getting up and going again. I'm very sorry for the break we took! Hopefully it will not happen again. I'm currently working painstakingly slow on a new skin for the site for a new beginning of sorts. Once I finish with that I will get started on advertising again. New things are being planned for the site! Hopefully you all will like them!

Cell phones; everybody has one. Phone calls are an excellent way to connect quickly with friends and family. Text messages are another convenient way to contact people, and with today's selection of mobile phones, there's no telling what services your provider allows! Be sure you claim your characters number before posting in here.
The White Burch community is several blocks of large apartments. Generally the community is quiet but at night there tends to be... gruesome... acts that are a mystery to the locals. Murders that go dismissed as wild animal attacks. Perhaps this community is too close to the South Woods.
Chelsea Square is the "bad spot" in town. All the apartments look like they are for upper class citizens but in reality they are fantastic on the outside and a big fix'er up'er on the inside. Sketchy deals go on down here. People go missing. "Dirty Cops" run these streets, and usually they have a little back up from the supernatural sort either by alliance or being one. It's not an easy place to live in but rent is cheap.
Just outside of town is Pivot Drive. A large area of privately owned homes. Right at their back is the South Woods. Though nothing mysterious has happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Wolf tracks and wolf sightings have been reported along with reports of unusually large wolves with strange behaviors. All these houses are very well kept, almost verging on the ritzy side.
Home to the best coffee in town! Java, Juice, and Jive is the best little bakery and coffee shop in town. Anyone who needs a little Java pick me up or has a sweet tooth for some delicious bakery goods, this is the spot for you. The inside of the little coffee hut is a very simplistic design, only having what is needed. There is comfortable booths for large groups of people meeting up for their cup of Joe and a muffin or tables for two.
The March Hare is a classy restaurant. Looking past the fancy dining the food is just exquisite; the finest of chiefs cook here. The March Hare would be a perfect place to bring your girlfriend, or boyfriend, on a romantic date.
There is a little green left in the world, not much and you really have to really search for a little patch of it. Here in Wellington Park you see nothing but green. Ancient trees, their bark scared from decades of life, but still standing strong. And soft grassy knolls with bright wild flowers roll lazily for miles. By day Wellington Park would be a nice place to visit to get away from the horrors of the wars. But by night there is some shady dealings going on, under handed crooks like wandering around the park looking for someone to rob or sell some black market item to, making this place not very safe.
In need to beef up and pack on some muscles? Or for those who have a little extra padding around the middle they are looking to lose... Here is the spot that you get to get down and dirty and loose them calories! Any kind of working out equipment you are looking for can be found in this small, but high tech gym. Now shed those pounds and pack on the muscle!
Every creature that crawls, slithers, hops, or flies around this place has been called some derogatory name before, freak being the most common. No one likes being called a freak. Well no one normal likes being called a freak, but there is those in each race that likes being different, likes being considered a freak. For those who dont have a problem showing off what they really are and like putting on a show, the Cirque de Mort is the place for you. The Cirque de Mort is a hot spot of the freak shows, it is a macabre carnival of sorts where werewolves can come and show off what theyve got. Humans that are brave enough, or stupid enough, actually can buy tickets to watch this freak show. Outside the main ring of entertainment there is every game a regular carnival has, but here in Cirque de Mort everything is sick and twisted, full of death and decay. Only those with a strong stomach should attend.
Nothing but a shell of a building. Scraps of machines that used to run at all hours of the day litter the floor. Steel beams and pipes jut out from the walls and ceiling from years of decay and neglection. The factory, this is where all the real fights happen. Yeah, you still have your street scraps and alley way brawls. This is where the true challenges take place. Fortunes are made and lost. Souls are bargained away as nothing more than playing pieces on a chess board. The Pit is very much styled as a Gladiatorial ring though there is no sand, nor vendors hawking their wares. Just blood, death, and the silent chant for more.
Envy is the hippest club on the block. Recently opened the club is always packed with people, lines trailing all the way down the street with people trying to get in. The real party that goes on isnt on the dance club, its in the exclusive rooms in the back, the kind of rooms where you can only get in if you are someone or know someone. If you manage to get into the back rooms it is like another mini club. Dancing woman galore, drugs, booze, anything you can possibly thing of happens back here. Keep in mind; this is strictly a no fighting grounds, a neutral zone. The owners are very strict about that, if you fight once you can never come back.
Despite the horribly unoriginal name this place is a hot spot in town to hit up. The only requirement is that you carry a weapon and aren't a werewolf. Simple enough. This social hang out was founded by hunters and is a hunters exclusive bar. Though there is a suicidal werewolf from time to time that will wander in there just to kill as many hunters as they can before going down. Always a lively place around here!
Deep in the woods, resting at the foot of the mountains is a large lake. Out in the middle of seclusion rest Esquline Lake, a lake so pure and clear you can look down and see the lake bottom. For those who manage to find its location its a piece of paradise to visit.
Woofield Plaza is here for all your shopping needs. This large plaza is filled with a lot of big name brand stores as well as locally owned stores. The summer is the time to go here, its more like a giant farmers market. Vendors pull their wares out into the plaza and do their business out in the warm sun instead of being inside the stuffy store.
On the opposite side of town rests the North Woods. These woods aren't so ominous as their sister woods, the South Woods. Many people go camping here, also a good place for a hike. Always be on your guard though, you don't know what you could run into in these woods.
Every town has to have a place to bury their dead, right? Well this is where the dead of Crowley are buried, and there are a lot of graves here thanks to the wars. If you dont mind being surrounded by thousands of decaying corpses even if they are six feet under, then the cemetery is a nice quiet place to just get away from everything even if it does make you seem like a creeper for hanging around a cemetery.
The secluded, well designed, cabin-like lodge placed discreetly against the side of a dangerous mountain which overlooks the brilliant sea. The views amazing, and the entire establishment is quite large. Its supported by a multitude of iron and steel beams, along with several platforms to hold up the wooded frame and weight of the miniature mansion. Here at the edge of the sea is the Kinbok Clan home where the resident alpha lives along with any clan member who chooses.
The Vokul's house is an old plantation house settled far out into the woods. The entrance of the driveway is well hidden, the driveway itself is long and lined with ancient willow trees, their vines long enough to touch the ground, creating a little hideaway behind them. This house was long forgotten over the years. The paint is peeling somewhat on the boards from long years of neglect. But the house itself in pretty good shape after some renovations. There are many secret places and chambers here. This once was a slave house and the style still reflects the old south. With the wars going on there has been some security systems put in, monitors and guards that parole the boundaries. So even if you are able to find the place you would never get close enough to enter it unless you are a fellow Vokul. Here in the shadows of the forest is the Vokul Clan home where the resident alpha lives along with any clan member who chooses.
The woods lay to the north of the city and are made up of thick layers of trees that are some of the largest in the country. This place is always covered in shadow and at night becomes incredibly frightening with clouds looming over-head constantly and the ground forever soggy from the never ending rain. This is a place where no wolf claims and many fights take place from those who attempt to make it their own. Here is a place that humans, hunters, and clan wolves dare not tread without large numbers. Rouge werewolves run these woods.
